Fees & Payment

I want the practical side of therapy to be straightforward. Here’s what you need to know about fees, payment, benefits and cancellations.

Consultations are approximately 20–30 minutes and give us a chance to talk about what you’re looking for, how I work, and whether we might be a good fit.

Counselling Session Fees

Weekly counselling: 50 minutes · $225
For individual child, teen, and adult sessions.

Initial intake: 75–90 minutes · $375
The longer first session gives us time to understand what brings you to therapy, your history, what you’re hoping for, and how we might work together.

Focused Therapy Series: 2 hours · $550 per session
Two-hour sessions offered 2–3 times per week for a short, defined period when greater continuity and depth would be useful.

Personal Therapy Retreats: 3+ hours · $975 and up
A more spacious, self-contained therapeutic experience with advance preparation, breaks and integration time, materials as needed, and a small take-home care package.

Why are longer sessions priced differently?

Longer sessions are not simply several 50-minute appointments placed back to back.

When we have more uninterrupted time, there is room to arrive slowly, follow what emerges, take breaks, move, reflect, and stay with something without immediately having to wrap it back up because the hour is ending.

Focused Therapy Series and Personal Therapy Retreats are structured differently from weekly counselling, and their fees reflect both the extended time reserved and the additional preparation and flexibility built into the work.

You’re not paying for therapy to be faster or more intense.

You’re paying for more room.

Payment

A payment card is kept securely on file for all clients.

Payment by Interac e-Transfer or cash is welcome and is due at the time of your appointment unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

If payment has not been made by another method, the card on file will be charged after your appointment.

Credit-card payments may be subject to a processing surcharge. There is no additional fee for payment by e-Transfer or cash.

After payment, you’ll receive a receipt that you can submit to your extended health benefits provider for reimbursement, if applicable.

Payment plans are available for the Personal Retreats.

Extended Health Benefits

Many extended health plans in British Columbia provide coverage for counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).

Coverage varies by plan, so please check with your benefits provider to confirm that RCC services are included and to find out how much coverage you have available.

I do not direct bill insurance providers. You pay for your session and submit your receipt to your insurer for reimbursement.

Your Reserved Weekly Appointment

When you begin ongoing therapy with me, you are reserving a regular weekly appointment time. That time is held specifically for you or your child and is part of your ongoing commitment to therapy.

Because I maintain a small practice, I’m not able to offer a cancellation-based model in which reserved appointments can simply be dropped from week to week. Consistency supports the therapy itself and allows me to maintain a predictable, sustainable practice.

If you know you’ll be unable to attend your usual appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. With at least 24 hours’ notice, I may be able to move your appointment to another available time during the same or an adjacent week. Rescheduling depends on both of our schedules and cannot be guaranteed.

If another appointment time is not available, your regular session fee still applies.

Appointments missed or changed with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at the full session fee and are not eligible for rescheduling.

If you will be away for more than three weeks, you are welcome to continue holding your regular appointment time by paying for the sessions you will miss. If you prefer not to hold the time, I completely understand, but I may not be able to guarantee that the same appointment spot will still be available when you return.

This policy is not about being rigid for the sake of rigidity. Keeping my practice small and financially sustainable helps me stay well cared for, present, and able to offer the kind of steady, thoughtful work I want to provide to my clients.

If I need to cancel because of illness, vacation, or an emergency, you will not be charged.
